Project Description
The Gachsaran oilfield is the second largest oil field in Iran after the Ahwaz oilfield, located in Gachsaran area, Kohkiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad province, 220 km southwest of Ahwaz. This field with the in situ reserve of 7.66 billion barrels and the final storage of 23.7 billion barrels of crude oil. The Gachsaran oilfield is about 70 km long and a variable width of 6-10 km which was discovered by Iran and British Oil Company in 1928 and launched in 1939.
